There are more and more options these days for bigger babies and toddlers in cloth. Best Bottom just introduced the Bigger cover, and I purchased one for Katie and me from Nicki’s Diapers to try on our toddlers. This larger size shell offers a roomier fit with 1.5 more inches in the waist and 1 more inch of rise height.
Besides the extended sizing, it’s the same design as the original Best Bottom diaper, is compatible with all the Best Bottom inserts, and is made in the USA. The new Bigger Best Bottom diapers were designed with 10 to 45+ pound babies in mind.
Size large inserts are the biggest ones you can buy right now; I wonder if Best Bottom will eventually add Extra Large, with this new Bigger cover in mind. Our large insert works ok right now, but when I stretch the cover over Ingrid and fasten it on, the insert pulls back a bit, leaving some empty space up front. For a tummy sleeper like Ingrid, I like to add more absorbency up there when using this Bigger cover.
Katie loves the way the Bigger Best Bottom fits on 18-month-old (27 pounds) Roderick. “Just how I’ve always dreamed a cover would fit!” She used it with a stay-dry large, just like I did for Ingrid, and added a microfiber doubler for nap time. Because of the longer wings, Katie said, “I can get a much better fit around the waist with this cover than I did my my original Best Bottom. Along with the improved fit, I love how trim it is on Roderick.”
She had no leaks with Roderick and is happy that there is room for him to grow both in the waist and the rise.
Here’s Ingrid, 2.5 years old and 28 pounds. She wears the rise fully opened up and there’s still plenty of room to grow in the waist.
I agree with Katie completely about the fit on toddlers, and like that it’s more trim and has longer wings. Here’s Ingrid with the original on the left and the Bigger on the right, for visual comparison.

I haven’t used Best Bottoms before but am interested in the bigger diaper since it could be used on our son now and our next child.
I have one BB, Totally Tie-dye and love it! If I won, I would choose Black Haze or Foxy Frolic, in os though because my 18mo old is a skinny mini and still on the small rise setting! It’s good to know that BB does have a bigger option though, in case we needed someday!
I love BB! They’re my favorite brand and system. My one size work well for now, but my little one is getting to the end of the snap options. If I were to win I’d be wanting a Black Daze 😍 I bought one for my friend who loves BB too, but I’d love one for myself ☺️
I’ve tried Best Bottoms one size before and love it, and I’d choose FoxTrot for my bigger one for my son!

I use some Best Bottom covers and inserts, which I have to boost for my heavy wetter. I’m glad they have come out with a cover that is bigger because I think it would fit him better. I really like their camo print!

I have started using the BBB on my chunky thighed10 month old and love how I can get a better fit with plenty more room to grow. I also appreciate that I can use it more easily for overnight or with prefolds. Have noticed my medium inserts fit a bit awkwardly, so wanting to go up to large. Would love another cover…definitely in Under the Sea!
We have about half a dz best bottoms. I love the idea of these new ones. My dayghter is tiny and she is almost on the last snap.

I have two hand me downs that are Best Bottoms. I have the Camouflage and the Cow print. If I ever had the choice I would choose a Black Daze or Totally Tie Dye. I would also love to try a snap in insert that is newer as well.

I love the Best Bottom system. I’m a grandma and wasn’t sure about cloth diapering with this option, but I love it. Easier to change, easier to wash. Right now we are moving up to Bigger Best Bottoms and love this Little Piggy design.
I love resale pages where we can get pre-loved diapers. They last through many babies.

We started out using mostly best bottoms. They fit both kids well and as liked the remove insert and reuse system but they wore out a little bit faster than we’d like.
I have yet to try BB, I adore the “Cookie Monster” one, my youngest is obsessed with Sesame Street characters 🙂
