If you think wool is scratchy, think again! Just before Ingrid was born, I received the organic one-size wool cover from Heather at One Love Diaper Co., and my first out-of-the-package impression was surprise at the soft, smooth texture. Made from 100% organic cotton knit on the outside and 100% Oeko-Tex 100 Certified merino wool interlock inside, it’s a very comfortable and breathable combination.

My cover is made from an adorable ant fabric with matching red snaps. Use the cover as is for older/larger babies, or fold down the rise to shorten it and expose snaps to fasten on smaller infants. The One Love wool cover can be used with any diaper already in your collection, or with Heather’s sherpa diapers, prefolds or boosters.

One Love Diaper Co. has a strong commitment to stewardship and a healthy diapering experience. Knitted prints are made with gentle, low-impact dyes, and the elastics are latex-free. Only certified organic and beyond organic fabrics are used. Even the tags on the diapers are organic. My review cover was minimally packaged and Heather’s business card says “Plant me! This tag has wildflower seeds in it!”

I lanolized the cover before using using my basic wool care instructions. True to form, the wool has not leaked, and the cover can be refreshed and used again. I haven’t tested it yet overnight.

Besides being very soft, I like that there’s some natural stretchiness in the fabric. It wraps around Ingrid beautifully and elastics at the back and legs are extremely gentle.

The workmanship is impeccable; I cannot find a seam or snap out of place!

I’ve enjoyed using the cover with both flats and prefolds, and it is cut generously enough to work with fitted diapers, too. In these photos, Ingrid is wearing a plush bamboo fitted under the One Love cover. She’s about 4 months old and since there’s a bulkier diaper underneath, the rise is not folded down to make the cover shorter.

When worn with just a padfolded flat, I do fold down the rise. Ingrid has been wearing the wrap on its small setting since she was 11 pounds. One Love does have newborn-sized diapers as well.

The organic, one-size wool cover retails for $54.00 and comes in many unique and hard-to-find cotton prints. Here are just a few of them!

The wrap style is definitely very unique as opposed to the traditional wool pull-up (which is pretty darn cute, too). ~Anne
