Gift and Treat Ideas for Your Pets at Christmas Time

December 11, 2020 by Anne Marie 11 Comments

Spread it around!

It has long been a tradition to do something extra special for your animals and pets at Christmas time. For the farmer, that might mean an extra measure of grain for the horses; for the family dog, a meaty bone or new blanket to sleep on. There are many famous legends surrounding our animal friends at Christmas. The most well-known is that they are given the gift of speech on Christmas Eve. One of my favorite carols is called The Friendly Beasts, as each creature recounts the unique way in which he helped the Christ Child at the Nativity.

If you’re looking for ways to spoil your furry friends at Christmas, this post is full of some unique ideas!

Muttropolis

Muttropolis is the place to be when you’re shopping for dog beds, bowls, toys and treats. Muttropolis was built from the ground up in 2002 with a passion for seeking out the highest quality, unique products for people who love their pets as much Muttropolis does. Each item has been pup-tested and hand-selected, so whether it’s raw food or a cozy bed, the quality is best-in-show. The site is easy to navigate and the filters help you narrow down just want you want. Plus, there are shopping guides in case you need some inspiration. For instance, we looked at their shopping guide for dog beds, and it asked if our dog usually curls up or stretches out when she sleeps. Bonnie always curls up and so it suggested a bed that has a bolster around the edge rather than a flatter and more open pillow.

Speaking of Bonnie, my brother’s basset hound has sure been enjoying her stainless steel explore food and water bowls. They are beautiful, bright and easy to clean! These dishwasher safe 3-cup containers have a non-skid bottom and come in three bright colors.

SquarePet Dog and Cat Food

Looking for high meat and low carb? Guess what? Your dog agrees with this diet choice, too! SquarePet sources 96% of its protein from cage-free turkey & chicken, salmon and eggs. And their dog food formulas contain less 14% carbohydrates. You can trust these vet-formulated foods to promote healthy weight and build strong muscles. No supplements need, either, because SquarePet already includes crucial Omega 3’s and six fatty acids which support healthy skin and a shiny coat, immune system health and brain function.

Best of all, they are made in the USA! No ingredients from China. No Chemical Preservatives, No Fillers, No Kidding!

Katie told me “Bonnie LOVES the Square Pet dog food. She gets giddy as soon as she sees the bag and eats her entire serving of food as soon as I put it down. The food even smells rich and meaty so I understand why she loves it. You could probably even use it as little treats when training a dog.”

And there’s a new vegetarian option, as well – SquareEgg. This meat-free dog food formula is an industry first with an easily digestible pure protein base of eggs and whey. This formula provides your canine with with truly superior nutrition. Eggs and whey each contain all the essential amino acids required by dogs for optimum growth and health. Based on its amino acid profile alone, the egg protein used in SquareEgg™ brand food for dogs is second only to mother’s milk for canine nutrition.

Wahl Waterless Pet Shampoo

Most pets, if you could ask them, would opt OUT of a water bath when at all possible. Suitable for dogs and cats, you can choose from Oatmeal & Lime Verbena or Lavender & Chamomile. Clean, condition and detangle, all with one great-smelling formula. The easy to use pump allows you to dispense cleansing foam with just one hand, leaving the other free to hold your furry friend. These Wahl formulas are paraben and alcohol free.

Try Wahl’s waterless pet shampoos for less than $6 and
get free shipping, too!

I know the pets might not know it is a special time of year but I like to include them in our lives. The thought of something different is so nice at this time of the year.

I miss having a doggy! My allergies have gotten so bad, I can’t have one in the house anymore. 🙁 Hoping that one day that will change and I can get the things on this list! 🙂

I’m so uncreative when it comes to gifts for my dog. I love this roundup and great resources. I love the idea of the oven baked treats.

We just got a new puppy last month and I want to buy him ALL THE THINGS for Christmas! Unfortunately, he only weighs 2 pounds, so it’s hard to find things that fit him! 🙂 Maybe when he gets a little bigger I can get him a personalized collar!
