Hi everyone. My name is Dana I have a 2 yr old daughter named Freya Jo. Shes a hand full. Our family has hit a tight spot when it comes to money. I started thinking that using cloth diapers is the way to go and make my own wipes. Most of our money goes to diapers and wipes then food. If anyone has any they are not using or just have packed away and don’t plan on using again please let me know. I’d be happy to take them off your hands. Am just starting out I have 1 shell and 3 inserts that i won, I have spent a ton of time youtubing cloth diapers and I also wanted to make sure I have a good understanding of them. I have asked around with friends and family but they mostly use diapers you throw away. Plus they think its to much time anyways to spend on a diaper. At this point I think not only is it good for my daughter cause she gets rashes from most diapers but for our pocket book and the earth. Please let me know it really would mean a lot.
thank you
Dana Daniel

Hi Dana! Are you planning to start potty training soon since your daughter is 2? Just wanted to ask before checking around about cloth diapers if she wouldn’t use them for long. Thanks! ~Anne
mary says
Dana…I am a cloth dispersing mommy…There’s not really a point in getting cloth diapers for a 2 year old…try you tubing how to party train a toddler, or look for a good Potty training book at the library!
Dana Daniel says
I have try the potty training but she has no interest in it at all. So am suck paying crazy amounts of diapers that give her rashes. Ive tried all types and different brands. The help really means a lot thank you
Zephyr Hill says
Dana, I forgot the mention the basic cloth training pants at Walmart are quite cheap. They are the Gerber brand, I think, and come two or three to a pack. ~Anne

I would love some prayers for my nephew-in-utero and my brother and SIL. He is due in April and he has a severe heart defect (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome). He will need a series of surgeries, the first at only a few days old. Please pray for a successful surgery and comfort and peace for his parents. Thank you!

Consider it done! Our family went through something very similar and it’s quite challenging for everyone. God bless you all, and PLEASE send me an update later, Mary. ~Anne

Hello moms, I am a mother of four boys ages 6,4,3,8 months. I am trying to find a little help. Me and my husband are wanting to find a place or someone to lead us to help save a little money. I have been wanting to try cloth diapers and in our budget we can’t buy a lot of them and I wanted to know if any moms out there could help me out a little with a few.
mary says
Hi nicole. Cloth diapers are amazing, and a great way to save $ and the enviornment…try a cloth diaper closet, the rebecca foundation is a great national resource!!

Just looking for some positive energy to come my way. Im a single parent of a 7 mth old. He is so amazing i cant believe hes mine!!
I am just so overwhelmed with everything i feel like im not being the best parent i could be. He is well taken care of has what he needs. We have an apartment that i can barely afford and it makes everything else suffer.
This month is the first time that i really cant afford diapers now that we are not living with friends. Last few days ive been using size one diapers that i had left over which isnt many.
Trying to get into cloth diapers for at least when hes home with me to help cut my cost but i dont have the money to invest in them straight off. I found one at a kids consignment sale its pretty used but was really cheap.
If anyone might have a few that they dont need right now i would appreciate being able to use them.
Thank you
Penny & Baby T

I’d like to ask for a pray! I’m struggling very much in my single life– I want so much to live a vocation in marriage and motherhood and just haven’t found the right guy yet. It is so so so hard to wait and dating is so incredibly tough (rejection over and over again-). I’m not a mom but love the mommy blogs anyways, please pray for me that one day I can share in the ups and downs of motherhood with you!
Zephyr Hill says
You can be assured of my prayers, Kathryn. It’s definitely got to be one of the most difficult callings out there – to be single yet have a desire for marriage and family life! Other friends I have who’ve been in this particular situation have told me several things help. Try not to put things on a timetable, age-wise. My brother in law waited until his late 40’s to marry and doesn’t feel at all like time was wasted while he waited for the right one. Instead, he feels that he was that much more mature spiritually and financially when the time came. He is now the proud father of four! Anything you wait a long time for is that much better. Secondly, realize that everyone in the Church, no matter what the station in life, has a place and a role. You can stay busy, and be happy and productive and hopeful, no matter where you are right now. Until you know what God’s plans are for you when it comes to marriage, there are opportunities everywhere to “participate” and encourage family life in your community. ~Anne

I am not sure if this is the place to post something like this, and if it isn’t I do apologize. I am currently pregnant with baby number 5, due in May. About a month ago, my husband had to quit his job, due to a medical issue. I am busy trying to get things ready for baby, and I was thinking that cloth diapers would be the way to go for us, since right now we don’t have the extra money to buy disposables. I have done lots of research and actually had plan on buying a bunch of cloth diapers this month actually. But with my husband having to quit his job, this caused us to have to move (all of our stuff is in storage) and we are bouncing around between friends and family and hotels. I can definitely go into more detail in private messages.
The reason for this post is to ask for donations of used cloth diapers. I am willing to answer any questions regarding my situation and can even show proof of everything. I do thank you all in advance. Have a wonderful day!

I will send you a message, Ashley! ~Anne

Me and my husband have a one year old in size 4 diapers. We are at a point where my husband lost his job and we just can’t afford diapers any longer. We still buy them but then get behind in the rent. I would really and have always wanted to do cloth diapering but have never had the money to invest that much at one time. I would love to know if anyone has any they no longer need! My son has very sensitive skin and gets bad cases of exzema as well so I think they would be so much better for him! Also please keep my husband in your prayers as he looks for a job. He has been out of work for over a month!

Hello, I have a 3.5 month old daughter and we have tried every brand of diapers we could find and she gets horrible rashes from all of them. My mother suggested cloth and we bought two off craigslist and loved them. We have now fallen on some financial issues and are having trouble paying the bills so buying diapers is a struggle and I feel like an awful mother to not even be able to provide those for my daughter. If anyone has some cloth diapers they are willing to donate it would be very very appreciated. Even if they need fixing up, I’m getting desperate at this point :/ thank you for your time. Also any prayers we would be very grateful for

Hi everyone. We are asking for prayer requests. In october my husband had a bowel resection due to a obstruction (he has crohn’s disease) Since then he has not healed correctly and has not been able to work. In december he had a second resection due to another obstruction. We had our 2nd child (a healthy baby boy) 2 weeks after that surgery. Feb 5th he had a bowel perforation and had an emergency surgery and was put on tpn. While still in the hospital feb 18th he had a 2nd perforation and they gave him a (hopefully) temporary jejunostomy. After 36 days in the hospital he was finally released from the hospital with a pic line on iv hydration 24 hours a day. He can’t work because of the pic line and the hydration. Hes also not supposed to lift more than 15 lbs. (so he cant pick up our 16 lb baby) Its been a very hard 7 months for all of us, both financially and emotionally. We were given a lot of disposable diapers by friends, but have run through those and the extra $60 a month is really hurting us financially.

Alex Nance says
Hello, my name is Alex, and I am a young mother who has a little girl named Ellie who is 7 months old. Both her father and I come from very low income families who were aided by the government programs such as SNAP, WIC, Social Security and Disability, and currently we are both going to college in order to better our chances of weaning ourselves off of our government assistance (SNAP and WIC). We drive an estimated 17 miles each day, to and from school, and also dropping off and picking up our daughter from her caregivers, so gas money is very tight. Our cash money always goes to gas, sometimes toiletries/household items (we try to be conservative) and diapers. Never fast food, luxurious items, dining out, clothes, or random items. Neither of our families are able to help us out most of the time, and since school is out for the summer and we are about to move and transfer schools, my fiance is out of a job (he worked at the university we were attending) money for us is basically non-existent. I have been wanting to start cloth diapering in order to save money on buying disposable diapers, but I’ve not had the money to spend to buy any, so any prayers and thoughts would be a wonderful blessing for us. Thank you all so much for your gratitude and your time, for reading my concern.
Zephyr Hill says
Alex, you can be assured of my prayers and those of others who are stopping by to read the requests. If you haven’t already, please look into a charity like Giving Diapers, Giving Hope or Jake’s Diapers. They lend out cloth diapers for free for families who qualify. I admire you so much for working so hard and for doing what’s best for your family. Please keep me posted! ~Anne

Hi everyone. my husband & I found out we are pregnant not too long ago. Which is a complete surprise since we were not planning, and had been very careful with preventative measures.. We just happened to be that like 1% I guess (and yes, we were very careful, meds were taken same time every day, other forms were also used in addition, we are very OCD about stuff)…. We are excited, but totally blown away. We are so over whelmed right now, it is not even funny. I just switched jobs as an attempt to go after my professional dreams, and everything that comes with my licensing for that is so expensive… i’ve already spent hundreds, and i still have thousands more to spend….. I suffer from a multitude of health problems (very bad arthritis, anxiety, depression, migraines, debilitating TMJ, among others..). My husband works 60+ hours a week, and 3 of his days are usually open to close shifts (he works retail). His car just crapped out on us, we just had one of our four legged babies pass away after a very long fight with her health (and a very large vet bill…) we just lost our washing machine (3 months after our refrigerator went)… i cant even go on.. i am balling as it is…. we just cant ever catch a break.
We are still trudging on. Like I said, we are excited… but my anxiety makes it hard to get the negative thoughts and stresses out of my head… We have already started prepping, finding the items we will need as cheap as we can for a baby, but we did the math on diapers alone and I nearly passed out (literally). I want to breastfeed, and I hope it works out… so right now the formula side is not bothering me… I know this is a sob story, but it is all truth…. We don’t qualify for any of the assistance programs that I have heard of because of my husbands job, but we don’t know how we will make it, we are barely scraping by now! The only thoughts I have for diapers is to cloth diaper. my mom said she did it with me for a brief time, but that was nearly 30 years ago, and she couldn’t offer any help or suggestions. Our friend base is so limited that those that have kids, all used throw away, and no one else seems to know anyone to offer help with cloth diapering.
i saw a suggestion to buy 1 a week/month until you have a stockpile, but i still feel I will not be prepared, and I am not sure we can even afford that right now…. Or buying used, I havent been able to find any that we can afford at this moment. Anyhow… I dont know what to do… if anyone out there can offer any help or advice, please let me know… I am so desperate… If anyone has any they can donate, or sell super super cheap… please let me know… Any anyone who can keep our situation in their thoughts would be greatly appreciated….
Anne says
Kay, I am emailing you this morning. Anyone else who sees this request and would like to help…please use the contact tab and I can help coordinate assistance. ~Anne

My daughter Scarlett is now 3 months old we would like to make a switch from disposable to cloth diapers. We are struggling financially and in need of assistance. If anyone has any they can let us borrow I will return them when we have the money to buy our own.
I have 2 prefold fold inserts given to us to use as burp rags.
We live in Oklahoma.

Please pray for my boyfriend’s mamaw. She is at Vanderbilt hospital waiting for brain surgery. This morning she was found at home and taking to the hospital. She had a stroke and then after tests they found a brain tumor that has taken her sight. They say she has bleeding in the brain and swelling she’s 88 years old and it’s not looking good.

Paula says
Hello everyone. My name is Paula. I’ve been going through a tough time myself like some of the other women who posted on here. My daughter’s father left me and times are really hard…. I’m a first time mommy and a lot of times I only have enough from working to take care of my little one Alice and just barely pay my bills. If I were able to use cloth diapers for her it would be way cheaper buying the inserts than buying regular diapers. I could really use just a little help…. even if it’s only one. It would be a start…. Alice and I would be ever so grateful. Thank you God bless! My email is paulasmoondance@Yahoo.com if anyone hears anything or has any suggestions for me. Have a wonderful day!

Paula, it’s been a while since I sent you an email, but I just wanted to check and let you know I’m still praying for you. Please give an update if you can! ~Anne

HI everyone,
I am a mother with 2 children and a third on the way. My husband has been out of work since a week AFTER finding out we were pregnant. I am wanting to cloth diaper, however my family is against it for some reason and refuses to help out getting cloth diapers. We are attempting to save up as much as we can to get some cloth diapers but the fact of the matter is we just are not producing enough funds to even start an account. If anyone is able to help out and get to me with some cloth diapers I would LOVE it. Thank you.
Anne says
Jessica, have you checked into any of the cloth diaper charities or lending closets mentioned in the comments above? Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Congrats on your pregnancy! ~Anne

Hi everyone. I need some help. I have 2 boys, one that is 4 and a 2 month old. My husband and I decided that we want to cloth diaper to save money. I have a few but can’t afford to try different types to see what will work. My husband is the only one who works and though he likes the idea of cloth diapers he doesn’t want me to spend a lot of money that we don’t really have. Does anyone know of companies that have seconds or sell gently used that could help us. Thanks
Anne says
Hi Janna, if you’ll check this page there are a few shops that sell used diapers. http://www.zephyrhillblog.com/clothdiapershops/ Cloth Diaper Outlet, Nicki’s, and Diaper Junction and are a few off the top of my head. Also, don’t forget your local Craigslist. You can even post a wanted ad, and see if you can get some for free. ~Anne

Hello! My partner and I have 7 kids and are expecting number 8 in February. Babies are such a blessing and boy was this little guy a surprise! Our children range in age from 2- 9. Luckily, we have no other kiddos in diapers at the moment. We are planning on cloth diapering, but have been going through a heap of a difficult time here recently. We recently moved and my partner started a new job with a lower wage, but more family time. I had to leave my job, because of his new hours and am having a difficult time finding a job that will accommodate the hours that I will be available to work. I am hoping to use flats and covers, because they seem to be the most reasonably priced, but am worried about not being able to afford everything that we need. Whether I am chosen to be helped or not, I want to say thank you for doing this. As a Mom going through a tough time, I know what a blessing you have been for others. I appreciate any prayers for my family that anyone feels compelled to give!
Anne says
Hi Elisha! Congratulations on your 8th child! What a small world 🙂 Have you thought of maybe picking up a pack or two of flour sack towels at Walmart or Target? They cost about $1 each and work pretty well. For a budget cover, the Diaper Rite one-size is under $10. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! ~Anne
Simone says
Hi there, I have a beautiful and happy 4-month old daughter who is loving her cloth diapers. She’s getting close to the weight limit on her osocozy better fit infant diapers. I just realized I need to get more very soon but hitting a wall with a lack of money to purchase the premium sizes. Hoping someone is done with their stash. I’m also looking for some prayers to keep my spirits up at work. Pumping is hard and I’m feeling a little (okay maybe a lot) discriminated against because I spend 30 minutes 4x/day pumping. My boss isn’t supportive or understanding of my increased workload since returning from maternity leave. TIA!
Anne says
Simone, thanks for writing! I wonder if you could sell most of the Osocozy diapers when she outgrows and use some of the money towards the next size? Buying used is a great idea; you can get them for $1 less apiece. I will keep you in my prayers, because I know it must be very demanding to be working and pumping! ~Anne
Mellisa says
My husband just lost his job and to help save what little money we have we have decided to give cloth diapers a try. Our son is 3 and developmentally slow. His Dr says it will be awhile before his bladder gets caught up to his body. He was born 7 almost 8 weeks early. If anyone could help I’d love that. Thank you.
Anne says
Mellisa, what style of diaper are you thinking of using for your son? Is he small for his age or an average toddler? ~Anne
Mellisa says
Yes Gilligan is small or his age. He is 33ish pounds and short and slightly skinny. We sorta like pockets or aio better covers seem to be a lot of a challang and with my RA in my fingers getting the safty pen or what are those other things called would seem to be harder than just snapping a few snaps.
Thank you
Anne says
Have you looked into an affordable AIO diaper with snaps or velcro closure? Nicki’s has a lot of good choices for under $13 each.
Mellisa says
Yes we have. However without money to spare once bills and rent are paid we can’t even afford gifts for any of our children. I wish we had money to buy diapers for Gilligan. They are all so cute and will be worth the money put forth in the long run.
Anne says
Mellisa, with that being the case, I would definitely look into the charities and cloth diaper lending closets referenced in the post above! It sounds like you would certainly meet the income guidelines. ~Anne
Rachel Phillips says
Hi! My name is Rachel and our first baby is due this October! We were told we would never be able to conceive, so this year has been a whirlwind (in a GOOD way)! We could use prayer for peace and provision. I managed to total our newest car three weeks ago and we are still waiting for insurance do their part so that we can replace it. In the meantime, our second car has decided to stop working, ha! We have a lot of household things randomly breaking down right now as well and all of this is coming after we we’ve made lots of our major baby purchases, so savings are on empty!! We know Good will provide in time, but it has been a very stressful couple of weeks, which I know isn’t good for our little man! 🙂
Anne says
Rachel, congratulations on the news of your pregnancy! I will pray that all goes well for you and the baby, and that God will provide the provisions that your family needs. At times like this, looking into 2nd jobs, part time work or work from home (temporarily) can help to relieve some financial stress and build up your savings again. I hope the insurance comes through soon! God bless, Anne

I love this, a prayer page! I might have to steal this idea 😇. I actually do have a prayer request for a little baby girl named Blakely. Her parents are good christian ppl that I grew up with and the baby has a ton of health issues. Too many to count. Her mom has had to stay in a hospital away from home for months. The baby recently had an infection in the blood and is now on dialysis. However, the more people have been praying the more she has improved. Any prayers for Blakely, and her parents would be appreciated!

Would be honored to pray for little Blakely! Thank you for sharing her story, Ashley. ~Anne
Beth says
I would appreciate prayers please and thank you. We unfortunately lost our 4th child in May due to a stillbirth. We are now 18 weeks pregnant with our 5th child and I am incredibly anxious about this child and feeling guilty that we are having a child so soon (like we are disrespecting our angel baby). We still haven’t told anyone about the pregnancy. I am not sure if it is because I don’t want people to forget our angel or if I am worried that something bad will happen to our current pregnancy if I tell people. I would just love prayers for reassurance and guidance as well as for a healthy baby. We truly appreciate it.
Anne says
Beth, you have my prayers! Sending you an email…. ~Anne
