Our 7 children dress up year-round, right down to little baby Ingrid! If your little ones love to be in costume, too, then I hope your family knows about Great Pretenders and their imaginative dress-up collection. Great Pretenders sent us a little gift this fall – the marvelous “Colour-a-Cape,” which your child can decorate with markers and wear with pride.
Colour-a-Cape retails for $22 (USD) and comes with a set of 8 non-toxic, water-based markers. The ink comes off the skin with soap and water, but will stay on for several machine washings. It’s reversible, so your little fairy can showcase the colored side, or the purple satin side.
There’s a large area to cover, so Catherine (our 11-year-old) helped her little sister to color it all.
The result is so bright and beautiful! Susanna (4 years old) loves that her cape has been custom-colored, and she wears it daily. I love that it’s so well made, and long enough for a very elegant look. As a bonus, Susanna will be able to wear this cape and enjoy it for years (that is, if we don’t abuse it too much in the wash!).
While Colour-a-Cape is a great creative outlet, Great Pretenders does have a HUGE selection of ready-to-wear costumes and dress-up accessories. Here’s just a sampling:
Great Pretenders can be found at our local toy store here in Kansas, and I love everything we’ve tried so far. In fact, the stretchy Pixie Perfect star necklace I bought for Susanna has actually ended up around my neck on a few occasions, and I never fail to get a compliment on it. 🙂
If Great Pretenders is not at your local store, shop online via their Canadian or US sites. Right now, select costumes are 50% off, which is just in time for several upcoming holidays. PS: If you order before October 23rd, your order will arrive before Halloween.
Please visit Great Pretenders and tell me which costume or accessory from Great Pretenders your children would love to dress up in!
