Thanks to Aubrey Rose Creations for sending me a diaper in exchange for a review!
You can probably guess by the design of my blog that I love woodland critters. Some of my particular favorites include birds and foxes!
Kellie at Aubrey Rose Creations gave me the difficult (but fun!) task of choosing a fabric for a custom hybrid fitted diaper that both Erik and Susanna could test. Her fabric albums are quite extensive and include both knitted (stretchy) and woven (cotton/no stretch) fabrics in an incredible variety of prints and colors. There were actually two fox prints, but I settled on this woven called “Sly Foxes:”
As an extra bonus, Kellie pre-washes and preps her fitteds before mailing. So they arrive ready to wear!
Here are the details on this diaper: it features a cotton woven outer with a hidden polyester fleece layer. The inside is lined with bright green cotton velour. On the outside it’s tricked out with coordinating orange and green snaps and a rise that can be folded down. It fits from about 10 to 30+ pounds. The snapping soakers are plush bamboo fleece/bamboo terry topped by velour; this combo is squishy and highly absorbent.
The close-up photos show just how well-made this diaper is! The strong, even stitches are made with coordinating threads and every snap is perfectly placed. There are pretty little tags sewn on to the diaper and extra insert. I am 100% happy with the professional quality of Aubrey Rose Creations!
A hybrid fitteds is bulky when using all the inserts, so not all my covers are roomy enough to cover the diaper completely. However, I’m happy to say my Flip covers work quite well, as do my Sweet Peas. But sometimes I let Erik go coverless, especially when we’re at home. A good hybrid fitted like this will hold him for hours on its own. Susanna is potty training, but you can see it fits really well on her.
Aubrey Rose pockets are $25 and the hybrid fitteds start at $30. If you love fitted diapers like I do, it’s worth spending the money to get even one “extra special” diaper like this for your stash. The quality is incredible and the fact that you can get exactly what you want for your baby is what keeps mamas coming back for more! To me, it’s kind of like spending extra money to get a shirt with your favorite sports team on it for your child to wear; it’s more expensive than a regular t-shirt but the thrill of wearing can justify the cost.
I’m not the only one who loves this adorable fox diaper! It gets comments from friends and family members alike. And it’s very comfy and cozy for my babies:
Kellie’s in stock diapers, inserts and can be found in the Etsy shop; stocking for customs is about once a month. However, mamas can PM her via Facebook at any time with questions and requests. You can also find Aubrey Rose diapers at Up on the Hill (aff link).
The number of diapers Kellie has made is staggering and the variety seems endless! Everything from baby fawns and flowers to Bazinga and Dr. Spock! Here’s just a sample:
Kellie will be doing a photo contest once she reaches 100 sales on Etsy and 1,500 likes on Facebook; I’m sure we’ll help her get there pretty quickly with this review and the giveaway coming up. Yes, Kellie has made another incredible hybrid fitted diaper for a prize! My giveaway post will arrive in your inbox on Sunday…if you are a subscriber!
