Little Comfort Bambee OS Bamboo Fitted Diaper Review & Giveaway

It’s time to welcome the New Year with another cloth diaper review and giveaway! My friends at Green Team Enterprises Distribution sent us a Little Comfort Bambee One-Size Fitted Diaper made of soft, luxurious bamboo for Susanna to try out over the Christmas holidays and we sure do love it!

Little Comfort diapers are made in Ireland and just recently became available in the United States, so this is something else to celebrate for the New Year! Their line-up includes fitteds, Popeasy Mini and Maxi pocket diapers, prefold boosters, diaper covers, changing mats, wipes, liners, wet bags and more.

The Bambee one-size is made of 80% bamboo pico/20% polyester and 70% bamboo/30% cotton fleece. The addition of polyester means this diaper dries more quickly than 100% bamboo. The snap-in bamboo/cotton soakers can be used together or separately.

I love how this diaper feels! The outer material is like super silky terry cloth; it’s definitely a luxury fabric. And the diaper itself is very soft and squeezable – if babies could talk I’m sure they would say it feels amazing to wear!

Here is the diaper opened up so you can see the two soakers snapped in, plus a close-up of how the soakers are constructed:

This is the second fitted I’ve tried this year, and I’m really learning to appreciate this type of diaper. Pretty much every part of a fitted diaper (the wings, the front, the back) soaks up wetness, which is why they are so incredibly absorbent and a great choice for naps and night time. Susanna is almost 18 months old so we used the Size 2 setting for her.

Switching to Size 1 for smaller babies is simple; you just fold the rise down before snapping the diaper into place. When using the Size 1 setting, the soakers don’t snap in since the rise is folded down and it covers the snaps inside.

The fit is excellent and Susanna can even wear it a little while without a cover. However, it fits best and stays put without any sagging when paired with a nice trim PUL cover. For overnight, pairing with wool is a great combo!

I’m very impressed with the absorbency of our Little Comfort fitted. It’s great for day and night and gets Susanna through her naps just fine. I’m not sure how it would perform with a heavy-wetting toddler, but it would definitely be worth trying out. And is it quicker to dry than 100% bamboo? Yes! We have other bamboo diapers in our stash and they do take longer to dry than the Little Comfort. So I think adding the 20% polyester was a smart choice, as it gives Little Comfort a bit of an edge compared to other fitteds, yet it is still primarily a “natural” diaper. The fleece-topped soakers also provide a nice stay-dry effect that you don’t find in all fitted diapers.

There’s only one thing I noticed that might be an issue with our Little Comfort fitted. You can see from the photos that although Susanna is wearing the diaper at the Size 2 setting, the waist is almost maxed out with only one more snap. What that means is this diaper might not get small enough in the waist for a skinny newborn. I will be trying it on my little one due in just 10 days and share my feedback with you in January!

The Little Comfort one-size fitteds are very reasonably priced at $18.00 to $19.00 each, and because they are adjustable you’ll get lots of use out of them – quite possibly from birth to potty training.

i love fitted diapers- definitely my fave for nighttime, & then coverless around the house during the day when we need a little coverage but i want my son to be able to feel wet because we are ‘potty learning’! thanks so much!!

  2. Sarah Hayes says:

Ive never tried a fitted diaper but they are on my list to try sometime. This one looks like a great one and I like the way you said it feels. I didnt know that babies could go a little bit without a cover with these on so thats nice to know.

  3. Julie says:

I tried 1 fitted on my first cloth diapered child 9 years ago. I didn’t like it because it felt like he was soaked when he woke up in the morning. I think that’s because it was a flannel diaper. So I stayed away from fitteds after that and continued to do so with my next baby… That is until this year while researching all the new cloth options available for my new baby. I kept reading recommendations for fitteds with wool covers so I gave fitteds another try. The terry cloth fitteds I tried were great. I decided that I’d love some more since my baby outgrew the newborn fitteds.

    • Zephyr Hill says:

Julie, I had a very similar experience to you! Bought a few cheap flannel fitteds off Etsy and yes – they soaked really quickly. Flannel just isn’t a great diapering material and I’m so glad fitteds come with other options now like bamboo, fleece, hemp, etc.

      Thanks for entering the giveaway!

  4. anne perry says:

I love fitteds…. Especially in the winter with wool covers.

  5. sara russell says:

    Love them!!

  6. Caitlin Myers says:

My baby girl won’t be here til March but I’m really wanting some fitted diapers for her. I think they would be great to use.

  7. Geri Fink says:

I’m hoping a bamboo fitted will be great for night time for us.

  8. Kristen Hughes says:

They look so soft and cozy!

  9. Heather M says:

I love fitteds. They’re usually not my first choice, but when I do grab them I love them to pieces!

  10. Brittney Reader says:

I like the AIO diapers the best. But I have a few fitted that I absolutely love and will be sad when my lil guy grows out of them.

  11. Guinevere Sande says:

I adore fitteds! So easy to use, contain messes so well and you have a choice of cover or coverless! I like how breathable it is and how my babies can have all natural fibers only on their bums!

  12. i like fitted. I think they are great!

  13. Melissa says:

I have tried one fitted, but didn’t like the style. It didn’t have snaps or hook/loop closure and didn’t fit well under my diaper covers. This one has narrower ‘wings’ and snaps so I would love to try it for a night time diaper. Thanks for the giveaway. Melissa ‘Birr’ Gilbertsen

  14. Amanda Alvarado says:

I love a good fitted with a wool cover for overnight! I’ve never had a leak!

  15. Aubree Faunce says:

I like fitted I just wish the wetness wasn’t saturated around the waist.

  16. Ellen B. says:

I have very limited experience with fitteds because I’ve only been CDing for just over a month, but so far I like the two kinds I’ve tried… I would love to try this one since it has snaps and looks great! I didn’t know you could go coverless with fitteds and am intrigued by how you said this one feels.

  17. barnolds says:

Most of my stash was given to me so it wasn’t what I originally wanted–it’s fitteds! They work fine but they are pretty bulky.

  18. Keara B. says:

I only have one fitted, but it’s definitely the most absorbent diaper in my stash! All I really need now is a real cover (instead of using a pocket diaper over it), and I think I’d be a true convert. :)

  19. Britni Bradford says:

I love fitted diapers! We use them all the time with wool or fleece.

  20. jamie davis says:

I’d like to try fitted diapers and covers but its just not in the budget to stock up at the moment.

  21. Ruth V. says:

I love, love fitteds right now! Especially the expensive WAHM ones…. it’s an expensive habit :) These Little Comfort Bambees look great!

  22. judith martinez says:

I actually made my own fitteds with pockets for my last baby out of birdseye cotton. My current night time solution is some awesome hemp/cotton fitteds I was given. They’re too big at the moment so they’re very bulky but they work wonderfully for night.

  23. Katrina Smith says:

I’m new to cloth diapers and have only tried pockets an AIOs. I would love to try fitted though.

  24. Emily says:

I really like fitted diapers. This diaper looks a lot like the Tots Bots Bamboozle Stretch, which is my favorite daytime fitted. I use Ecoposh under wool at night & love it!

  25. Alessandra Peterson says:

I have a few fitteds that were handed down to me from a friend. They are in large so it will be a while until my baby due in the spring can even fit into them!
    Alessandra Peterson

  26. Rheanna says:

after going absolutely insane trying to figure out heavy wetting for overnight…finally finally fitteds saved my life. I was nervous about trying them but finally I did and I’m so happy I did.

  27. Kristi Cartwright says:

I have not yet tried fitted diapers–my first little one is due in about 4 weeks so I’m just getting into cloth diapering! Looking to build my stash up :)

  28. Carrie C says:

I have two homemade fitted diapers that I use at night. They work well, but I would love to try out more. I like using fitted diapers and would love to move that direction with all our diapers.

  29. Andy Marrero says:

I have not tried fitted diapers yet, but not for lack of trying. I’ve heard good things about the LC fitted and was saving up to try to get a couple for nighttime. I got a heavy wetter!

  30. Sue Bunting says:

I have tried fitted diapers and I love them! No folding like the origanal cloth diapers, or the folding you have to do with “pre-folded” diapers! They are so much less work when you are dealing with lots of cloth diapers!

  31. On my granddaughter I started out using tea towel flats and wool – that worked great and I still use that combo sometimes. Now that she fits into her pockets on the smallest setting {she’s 3mo} I use those sometimes. BUT I do have a few fitteds and I love them! I may even be selling some of the pockets and getting more natural material fitteds. I’m just not real sold on the PUL and would prefer a more natural diaper. These Little Comfort fitteds sound great and I’d like to try them. ty!

  32. Nikole H. says:

We use fitteds for night-time — works well for us!

  33. Ranu Tanu says:

Never tried fitted before, but after reading your review I’m thinking of getting a couple maybe. I have to start training my son soon.

  34. Beth Rees says:

I guess my problem with fitteds or maybe just the fitteds I have tried, they never seem to have a very high rise in the back. They always seem like they are small even though my little guy is pretty skinny. Maybe I just need to try some different kinds

  35. Bekah Kuczenski says:

I love fitted diapers for nighttime use! The only diapers we use for nighttime are fitteds with covers, they are the only things that keep my baby dry :)

  36. Joanne Gregory says:

I think fitted diapers would be more comfortable for baby.

  37. Heather Barnes says:

I love fitted diapers! They are more comfortable for baby and less likey to leak.

  38. Brooke B says:

We use fitteds almost always during the night. I love that they allow my little girl to sleep through the night!

  39. Kate P says:

I like fitted diapers a lot. They are easy and keep baby drier

  40. kelly says:

I have not tried them, but hope to.

  41. Beth says:

Now that I’ve been CDing for a while, I love fitteds and I wish I had many more. I did not understand them at all in the beginning.

  42. kim johnson says:

We have a few fitteds and love them. I love them without a cover at home during the day to air out the bum and at night they are super absorbent.

  43. Bree S. (zuel) says:

I’ve actually never thought much about fitted diapers, I always thought i would go straight to pockets and all the high tech diaps when I would have kids, were still in the ttc phase, but my cousin is trying cloth. After looking at her registry and searching for better pre-folds than gerber I got the flats/pre-fold/and fitted curiosity. I’m entering mostly because I’d love to give her a variety of styles in hopes it will lead to a better CD experience.

  44. Katie W says:

I love the few fitteds I have. Nothing escapes.

  45. Rebecca R. says:

I am a pocket lover, but I LOVE fitteds for nighttime! With a cool cover, my baby stays dry all night. Love it!

  46. Krystal says:

I used some Kissaluvs, size 0 fitteds with my gal when she was first born, but haven’t recently.

  47. domestic diva says:

I haven’t tried fitteds, but I would like to.

  48. Lily Ivey says:

    Love fitteds for nights.

  49. Cathy Bane says:

I’ve never tried fitteds, but have always wanted too. They look so simple compared to prefolds.

  50. Lisa Fox says:

I love fitteds! Very useful for containing poo (my little one is ebf and only poos 1-2x a day…so they’re kinda big). Would be useful for naps if she took longer ones or for nighttime. If I have another little one, I might get more fitteds for the nb stage. I only had one to begin with, this time.

  51. fitteds are a must have for nighttime diapering in our house!

  52. Heather says:

Haven’t tried fitteds, but definitely interested.

  53. Kristina S says:

I have only tried a couple fitteds but I really like them
    Kristina Severson

  54. Fitted diapers are GREAT, especially coverless at home when I want to know if my daughter needs to be changed sooner instead of later.

  55. I love fitted’s. They are my favorite now. When I started out with cloth though, I thought the whole idea of them was silly.

  56. cathy henatyszen says:

I think fitted diapers are great… I still remember when I was little and learning how to fold diapers the old fashioned way for my cousins

  57. Missy Marie says:

I have never tried fitted diapers, just the old school cut.The fitted would speed things up and fit ALOT better:)

  58. Amanda Rudolph says:
