My 7-year-old daughter Catherine can do diaper changes just like mama, thanks to her handmade miniature cloth diaper from BabyDollDiapers4U, a unique little Etsy shop owned by a wonderful lady named Linda. These mini diapers are perfect for a child’s dolls and bears, and they are easy for little hands to open and close.
Linda makes her doll diapers out of soft cotton or flannel, depending on the print, and uses velcro for the closure. The diapers are machine washable and the velcro is triple-sewn to last for many years of play. The prints and colors are almost endless and Linda’s positive feedback numbers in the hundreds, so you can buy with confidence.
These little diapers fit a wide range of dolls and bears. To your right: the purple ballerina print diaper on Catherine’s bear “Spotty.” He’s about 12 inches long.
And look out below – Catherine’s vintage teddy named “Honey Bear” is 17 inches long but can still wear the same diaper. Yes, she’s a little pudgier in the tummy, but the velcro still reaches around for a good fit.
For over 30 years, Linda has been making these little treasures, and she asks only $4.00 for each one. “I try to keep the prices low, ” says Linda. “I know in this economy it is tough for some mothers to buy for their little ones.” Doll diaper sale proceeds go towards helping Linda’s own daughter, so this is a WAHM business you can feel good about.
Besides being a great gift for a child, here are some other ideas I have for these cute little diapers:
Cloth Diapering Mamas: Here’s a cute and fun way to “share the love” with your children and get them interested, too.
Baby Shower Gift Topper: Use one of these diapers to complete your wrapped gift. A super cute embellishment! Plus it might get her excited about cloth diapering.
Baby Shower Game and Favor: Buy about 12 of these and use them for a fun and unforgettable baby shower game: hang up a mini clothesline and set a timer for 60 seconds. Each guest takes turns seeing how many diapers she can pin to the clothesline while holding a doll AND cradling a phone under her chin! When each lady goes home, she takes a diaper with her as a favor.
Oh and one more thing – BabyDollDiapers4U are not just for girls! My 8-year-old son Joseph loves stuffed animals. Every once in a while, when he’s had his fill of Legos and Hot Wheels and Captain America, Catherine wheedles him into playing dolls and bears for a little while. After seeing the ballerina diaper Joseph wanted to know if I could find him a boy diaper for “Orange Kitty” (his friend since babyhood). Joseph explained to me that Orange Kitty is very young and not potty trained yet.
Luckily, I just found this cute train diaper today and ordered it for Joseph’s Orange Kitty.
